Cage Rattle 3.0

November 9, 2008

“Every end brings a new beginning.”

Don’t ask me who originally said that, but its never been more of a true statement than right now. With every band, artist, and musician, comes a certain growth as they progress through the years of either being on the road, playing at local bars, or just simply practicing in their parents garage. Well the same goes for everyone here at CageRattle.com. We’ve been doing what we do for quite some time now, and we realized about two months ago that we were ready to take the site to a new level. Well we’re proud to show off this fine piece of work that you see today. Its been through many revisions, many angry conference calls, and many cups of coffee. All which have led to this media giant that is in front of you.

Some of you can probably still remember the days of CR-1.0, which had the web url of CageRattleRadio.com. Back when we did this for fun and came up with our principle purpose in this world; to help bring rattlers closer to their favorite bands in todays music world, and bring the bands closer to their fans. We’re one of the few media sites that still hold that simple motive to this day. We’ve never lost touch with what we are here for and we never plan on it fading in the future. The only changes that have ever been made, are the different ways we bring that “insiders peak” or “backstage access” to you. We’ve brought you videos, audio interviews, news, and contests that would make even the slightest music fan wet their pants.

Cage Rattle 1.0 was a simple site, like I said, with a simple mindset. It was strictly for audio interviews and a radio show. The radio was the first time people would actually hear commercial free mainstream and unsigned rock that they enjoyed. We’ve never had a complaint about our strict playlist guidelines, and 1.0 was what set the bar for all future shows to come.

After much success and a growing fan base, we decided to proceed with 2.0. This new site brought much more to the fan. It was the first time that we started dipping into the backstage video world. Live concert footage, acoustic performances, and a peak into the backstage lifestyle. We also brought more to the radio show, bringing you more interviews, more random rants and talk, and more media to persistently rape your retina. We brought you live footage from one of the US’s biggest rock festivals, and even launched our own nationwide tour with the headliner Nonpoint. Satisfied with where we’ve been, we once again began to look into the future of CR. This is when the rumors and talks started coming about the new 3.0.

We couldn’t have anything ordinary and boring. We couldn’t have any other typical music site. We wanted our genre, our signature media, and our style that you’ve come to know. But we didn’t want it to be the same. Am I losing you yet? Ok. So the decision came to start from scratch. Everything was erased. The site design, layout, and our way of thinking all gone. The one thing that sat in front of us was the principle that took us to this point. Bring the fans closer to their favorite bands, and keep the bands in tune with their fans.

The site you see before you was put together by people that have had much of the same dedication and goals that we’ve had since day 1. It has a lot of hard workers behind the scenes that you’ve never seen or heard of. Its them who make Cage Rattle run day to day.

So don’t be shy. This site has been built for you, and everyone like you. It carries the motivation that makes all of us love music. Take some time out, go through every tab, and everything that the site has to offer. When you start to realize how much there actually is, you might need to sit back for a second and take a breather.

It’s a site for rock fans, by rock fans…and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
