The app will also offer up wallpaper and more goodies to PJ fans and is the first of its kind for the Blackberry Tour. If you love Pearl Jam, have Verizon and stash a Blackberry Tour in your pocket, text “PJ” to “5509″ to grab the app.
“Pearl Jam is always looking for new and innovative ways to connect their fans with their most valuable asset — the live performance,” the band’s Ten Club manager Tim Bierman said in a press release, adding the app will help the band “expand our mobile bootleg program into new territory.”
As Rolling Stone reported last year, Pearl Jam and Verizon previously launched a similar bootleg plan to showcase three highlights from each show on the band’s 2008 U.S. tour through Verizon’s VCast system, including one free downloadable song from each show. Pearl Jam and Verizon also teamed in the weeks leading up to Backspacer to exclusively offer up and preview tracks from the album as ringtones.

Google finally ready to take over music
October 22, 2009
If you believe the rumors currently buzzing on the Internet today, Google is finally ready to conquer the world of Music…
According to Tech Crunch, Google will partner with iLike and LaLa for a brand new music service. Exactly what this music service entails remains unclear, however, rumors pertain to something that will allow users to stream songs directly from Google, via their aforementioned partners, with the opportunity to also purchase the songs for download.
CNET reports that the service may be called “One Box” and would be designed to organize everything a music fan may need when searching online for a favorite artist.
The way One Box will work is that a person who keys in the names U2 or Coldplay, for example, will find a thumbnail photo of the artists, background information, as well as a listing of the music that they can preview, according to the sources.
There are already One Box results for video, financial information, and weather.
An official announce of some sort, which includes LaLa, iLike, and probably Google, is scheduled to take place next Wednesday, October 28th in Hollywood, CA. We’ll update you once this apocalypse actually goes down.

VIDEO: Scott Weiland’s Is A Romantic
October 19, 2009
The STP frontman meets his dream girl in this clip for “Tangle With Your Mind.”
Scott Weiland has landed the lead role in a new romantic comedy video,  and its soundtrack kicks ass!
For the music video for the sometime Stone Temple Pilot’s solo song “Tangle With Your Mind,” the 41-year-old rocker acts in the usually stale tale of boy-meets-girl. Check out the video below.
Weiland said the video was inspired by 2006’s equally lighthearted and romantic film The Science of Sleep. Weiland reached out to film students for the project, and ultimately recruited relative newbie filmmaker Dennis Roberts based on his original treatment.
“I was really impressed,” Weiland said. “I’ve worked with huge video directors and [Roberts] and his crew were just as professional as anyone I’ve ever worked with.”
Well, turns out Roberts had previously directed clips for Beck and Simian — score!

Guns n’Roses finally announce major tour
October 19, 2009
Guns n’Roses have finally announced a solid-looking tour in support of controversial album Chinese Democracy, which was 14 years in the making.
The album was released in November 2008 to mixed reviews, after costing more than $13m to make, and failed to live up to sales expectations, largely because Rose refused to engage in much promotional work.
But now the band - currently featuring Rose, Bumblefoot (guitar), DJ Ashba (guitar), Richard Fortus (guitar), Tommy Stinson (bass), Frank Ferrer (drums), Dizzy Reed (keys) and Chris Pitman (keys) - have announced 13 dates in Canada starting in January:
13/01 Winnipeg, MB – MTS Centre?
16/01 Calgary, AB – Pengrowth Saddledome?
17/01 Edmonton, AB – Rexall Place
19/01 Saskatoon, SK – Credit Union Centre?
20/01 Regina, SK – Brandt Centre
24/01 Hamilton, ON – Copps Coliseum
25/01 London, ON – John Labatt Centre
27/01 Montreal, PQ – Bell Centre?
28/01 Toronto, ON – Air Canada Centre?
31/01 Ottawa, ON – Scotiabank Place
01/02 Quebec City, PQ – Colisee Pepsi?
03/02 Moncton, NB – Moncton Coliseum?
04/02 Halifax, NS – Metro Centre
The confirmation follows the release of four dates in Asia for December. The band say they have “tour updates and announcements planned throughout 2010″.
Now the question remains; will anyone attend? Has Axl pissed off every diehard GnR fan?

Suicide by Tour Bus?
October 19, 2009
Two members of Opeth were involved in an accident while traveling on their tour bus. It has now come to light that the other motorist died and that was apparently intentional.
Opeth’s Mikael Akerfeldt issued two updates on his Myspace page on Friday detailing these developments. Here they are some highlights: I just got a text from Mendez who saying that the driver of the other car (who made the U-turn) that our bus crashed into, sadly passed away from his injuries. On top of that it seems as if it was a deliberate death-stunt from his side as the police had found a suicide-letter in the car-wreck.
OPETH MYSPACE UPDATE: OK, we’re back out on tour now, just came into the venue in Brussels. Everyone’s alright, but I can see that they’re shaken. Apparently it was a clear suicide attempt as the car had not made a U-turn but was actually standing sideways covering one complete lane. As our bus drivers changed lane, the car backed and covered that one instead, and obviously by then, at approximately 80 km/h, it was all over. Our bus crashed into the driver side of the car and the guy, who was 35 years old pretty much died then and there. The paramedics apparently saw signs of life but he died soon after the initial impact. They had found something in his cellphone, some type of message, but we don’t know what it said obviously.
You can read his full updates at Myspace for all the details
