Rage Against the Machine’s New Album in 2009?

October 2, 2008 · Print This Article

According to twistedear.com, Rage Against The Machine is apparently readying to record their first album of new material in nearly ten years. The report says that the band is in talks of recording their new album for their longtime label Sony and expect to release it in 2009, a source explained: “We’re hopeful, but a new album is far from definite.”

Frontman Zack de la Rocha, who just recently started a new band One Day As A Lion, also spoke to Los Angeles Times last month about the possibility of new material, saying:

“We√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢re going to keep playing shows - we have a couple of big ones happening in front of both conventions. As far as us recording music in the future, I don√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t know where we all fit with that. We√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve all embraced each other√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s projects and support them, and that√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s great.”

Check this out. for some reason. i just happened to change channles and i landed on sci-fi. they are givingthis ECW wrestling shit ,and a wrestler by the name of Jack swagger interrupts someones elses. dialog. big deal right??? well… His entrance music sounds like Rage against the machine. Not only that.but the voice of the singers sounds like zach de la rocha.its a song thats seems to have the same inro to testify, and the first lyrics sounds like” I got you, where i want you” . i dont know if i’m exciting cause i’ve never heard it before, and to me that signals a new album. something that has been long denied.!!!

An album from Rage would be amazing , that is what this world needs, Rage to open up peoples’ eyes as far as the government and how corrupt this world is. i would probably still be oblivious to it all if my brothers didn’t get me into RATM when i was about 14 and now I’m 23. That would be the greatest thing in the world Zach is such an intellegent man and tom morello is in-f***ing-sane on the guitar, like no one else!!!! and Brad and tim are just as amazing. please Rage, make my year and come out with another kick ass album (like all the rest) and make my year!
    peace and love

Rage is amazing for one end of story there. The rumors of a new CD are unfortunately untrue. In an interview with tom merello, he stated that they did not feel that they needed to make a new cd because there music is more relavent today then it was. If this has changed it is new to me but that was not more than 3 months ago

Yo i think it would be so ill if RATM got back together and started to put out some more good shit. i thought that they were going to put some more out like last year when they announced that they were back. but their preaching is damn good but the thing that i don’t quite understand is that they sing about how violence and anger isnt they way but their lyrics make it sound like they are supporting what they are fighting against. i think that if they were to get back and make some new stuff that would be great but i think that they should do something right now. i love their music and i used to follow everything that i thought it meant.

I’ve been listening to these guys since first grade, holy shit. My mom used to teach me about what everyone of their songs are about, these guys are the best band in history and will be the best forever. I I fucking love Zack he is the best fucking poet I’ve ever heard, I really hope this isn’t a rumor.

  17. Jared on October 15th, 2009 6:17 am

You guys all buy into the shit that RATM sings against and none of you get it either. Bunch of hypocrites, wake up. If you’re such big fans then why aren’t you listening to what they’re actually saying and start doing it?? Action, not words, are what are needed now. RATM gave the words, now rise up and do something about it or shut up.

  18. rage on October 17th, 2009 3:17 pm

No matter what age Rage hits home. I’ve listened to Rage since the start and was in high school when they came out. There was a lot of Rage in me. Now at thirty a more calculating Rage emanates from me and nothing hits home like “Take the Power Back.” They’ve inspired a generation to think outside the box of conformity and given a voice to the unheard.

To Jared: How do you assume we aren’t doing something? We are on the same team. Direct your anger and use it. The lobbyists and upper one percent profit off of the rest of us because they pit us against each other knowing we will in house fight. ANGER IS A GIFT! Use it.

Got something to say?
